James Last - Christmas Dancing (1966)

This is THE record. Christmas record, I mean. This is exactly the music, my parents played on Christmas-eve, when me and my brother came into the living-room for the presents. Well, that one brings back so many memories... *sniff*... But anyway: After almost 40 (!) years, this one hasn´t lost a bit of its charme. Love it or hate it, but to me this is one of the greatest Christmas albums of all time. I added 1 Bonus Track to this album, because I think it fits. The "Petersburg Sleighride" is from 1966 too. You can cut it out if you want to. Now please enjoy James "Hansi" Last with the sound of my childhood...

And here´s the Tracklist:

01 Kling, Glöckchen, klingelingeling / Lasst uns froh uns munter sein / Oh, du fröhliche
02 Leise rieselt der Schnee / Schneeflöckchen, Weißröckchen / Auf dem Berge da wehet der Wind
03 Morgen, Kinder, wird´s was geben / Alle Jahre wieder / Fröhliche Weihnacht überall
04 Am Weihnachtsbaume die Lichter brennen / Es ist ein Ros´ entsprungen
05 Ihr Kinderlein kommet / Der Christbaum ist der schönste Baum / A, a, a
06 White Christmas / Midnight in December / Jingle Bells
11 Petersburger Schlittenfahrt (Bonus Track)

Hi Pinnichio
Just for the record, can you tell me what's the number of this Polydor's edition? I can't see it on the picture, it's too small
Thanks

with Christmas coming up is there any chance you could post this one again? or any other German christmas music you might have?
My parents always played their old German Christmas albums when I was growing up and I would love to be able to relive that one way or another.
thanks

Hi there,

this is actually one of my favourite Christmas-albums. I cannot repost it, because it´s available now on CD. It´s not even expensive, by the way, and it will be worth it. Please check amazon.de for further information, the CD has the same title as the vinyl LP.

I have a few German Christmas LPs and I will post them in December, because I have to rip them first. Please have a little patience...

Thanks Roman! I just ordered the CD and I look forward to whatever else you put up on the site. Keep up the good work.

Hello Roman,

I am from Cananda and am having a hard time finding the 1966 Christmas Dancing CD. I would love to get it for my parents for Christmas... they only have a scratched up LP and we all have such beautiful memories listening to that music. Can you help?

Hi Lisplis,

you can easily get it at amazon.de, for example. It´s got the same title, but it´s got the alternative cover. But still original artwork from 1966, I got the record with the other cover too. It´s really a nice record to have...

Hi, I´m Michael from Cologne , Germany. I was born on 1. July 1966 and erverytime I hear the songs from "Christmas Dancing" i get that warm Christmas feeling. The Song " Kling Glöckchen" was exactly that song, that my father plays every 24, December evening. The living room door gets open, and all kids stood around the christmas tree. Oh man. such a lot of very , very good memories
