Sid Ramin - New Thresholds in Sound (1963)

*sniff* ... No presents, no congratulations, no flowers... *sniff* ... But it was my blog´s birthday! I´ve been blogging one year now, and nobody notices... *sniff* ... Sad, sad, sad... But what can I do? Nothing. Except bringing this post to you without the link. That´s my revenge. For not noticing! That´s all your fault! And I tell you: You´ve missed a really great record by Sid Ramin from the year 1963...

I only have to tell you I finally understood why you chose pinocchio as nickname.

Roman,
Thank you for sharing so much over the last year.

I love the music and information that you bring to this blog and I get a rush whenever I see new content on your site.

I appreciate your graceful efforts.

Nice titles here. One question though...How the hell do you download them? A number of people seemed to have asked before, but no response is ever given.

You've got some great stuff, and obviously some people are able to get at them.

What's the deal?

Happy belated birthday. Away for the long weekend and missed it. Thanks for the post with no link! I have noted your anniversary and will be Johnny on the spot next year. LP

Happy birthday to your blog!. I always download anything I can get off it before its gone. You prompted me to register to post a comment and now I have a blog name without a blog. Looking forward to more good posts.

Just how long is anything made available on this blog, anyway?

Does this Roman ever respond?

Isn't a blog with a mile long list of posts you can't access a bit silly?

What is tapedream(above) looking forward to? Nice jpegs of album covers?

Is someone actually maintaining this blog?

Roman hat gesagt…

Hmm, so many questions at one time... But let´s see, maybe I have some answers:

1.) As long as I want it.

2.) Yes, when he wants to.

3.) No, it´s not. I think a blog with approx. 1 post is more silly. An example can be found here:
http://iamsoylentgreen.blogspot.com/

4.) I don´t know, please ask Mr. Tapedream himself.

5.) Yes, as anyone can see. Just take a look at the dates of the posts. I have seen blogs with almost no maintenance at all. An example can be found here:

Hows about sharing that Sid Ramin album?

Roman, I am sorry I missed the birthday of the blog. I have been tagging along and downloading for the whole year. What can I say, i forget my father's birthday every year. I am bad that way. Happy birthday, ignore the complainers, and keep up the great work.

@ interlude: No, I guess I would lose my credibility then... ;o)

Wise ass! I asked nicely first, no response and absolutely no indication on your blog whatsoever that anything was actually downloadable...just cyclical links to the jpegs.

You tell me, what kind of impression does that give? I had nothing to lose since all I was interested in was the Neal Hefti...of course, it did get your attention and a response, didn't it?

And since the juvenile gauleiter of eBlogger must bring it up twice, the blog I started was going to be used in tandem with some local senior and vet services in my county. In the end it turned out to be unnecessary as bandwith and webspace was provided for the organization by local charities. Does that help you to feel a little more superior? You're not that much of a dumpfbacke, are you?

Again, a blog with (now!)one active sharing link and a mile long page of titles long gone from availablity is counterintuitive and a bit gauche.

Anyway, no point in parting on a sour note. Good luck with your blog and your Last's.

auf Wiedersehen!

@ soylent:
Yeah, I guess I´m the bad guy here. But let me sum this up:

You think blogs are a CD-store where you can get anything you want for free. And if you missed a thing, then you can re-order it, and it has to be provided for you by the blogger for free. If not, you start to insult him by using nazi-terms and other swearwords and tell him that his blog is crap. At the end of your comment, you get cynical, because you don´t want to be seen as a spoilsport. You disrespect other people´s work, because you demand their work for free.

Now I tell you something:

If you HAD asked politely, you would have gotten the link. But a comment like "Where´s the link???" or "Can´t find the link!" is neither nice nor polite.

It takes me a lot of my spare time to prepare my posts (take a picture, rip the tracks, upload the file, write the post etc.). If you want to benefit from my work after I took down the link, you should use the wishing well on top of the page, run a sharity blog of your own or get me something I want. If you give, you will be given...

And one more thing: If you don´t like my page, then just don´t come around here. Who forces you to look up my page? If I could prevent people like you from downloading my files, I would do so. But there are other people (the vast majority) who like my page (and the music as long as it is available). And if nobody comes around here anymore, I will still enjoy posting nice pictures of my records, and by the way: It would still be a great blog!

Got the message? Good. Now you may lie down again...

Hi Pinicchio!

Here's Phil, from Spain. I wanted to know if you can share the Sid Ramin's album link. Have you upload it to Rapidshare? I'm very interested on it, cause i only have two Ramin albums and I love them!!!!

thanks veryvery much for your work here & keep on the good work!

Roman hat gesagt…

Hi Phil,

I haven´t uploaded this one, I haven´t even ripped it yet. Maybe I will someday, when I got better software, ´cause it is in a bad condition. Crackles all over. Maybe somebody else has a good copy of this? I would be delighted too...
