Dave Pell war mit seinem Oktett in den 50-ern eine Institution des sogenannten West-Coast-Jazz. Er spielte sein Saxophon auch in den Big Bands von Les Brown, Benny Goodman, Harry James und Tommy Dorsey. Er hat mit seinem Oktett über 30 Alben eingespielt, von denen dieses hier zu den hervorragendsten zählt. Viel Spaß!
