101 Strings - Plus Dynamic Percussion (1969)
Alright, this is the first time I´ve got a problem: This is a great record, believe me, but the whole record´s got a surface noise from the start to the end, and I cannot remove it. If anyone feels like he can remaster this little gem for me, I´ll gladly upload the whole record. But there´s not much use in uploading this one in a terrible quality. Maybe there´s one option in cleaning a record I haven´t heard of yet? Do YOU have any suggestions on how to get rid of these noises? I don´t know what to do and I gave it up. Maybe you´ve got the re-issue on tape from 1990? Maybe you´ve got the files from somewhere on the web? Maybe you would like to remove the noise on my files? Well, I would like to have this record in a good quality, so if you happen to have this, please let me know. But first, you can listen to "Voodoo Moon". There are so many great tracks on this record, it´s really a shame how some people treat their old vinyl...

That sound is nasty!
Sorry Roman, I tried running my usual filters and de-click software on this track, anything that removes the noise removes too much music as well... The only suggestion I can make you've probably tried first: washing the record! I find this works surprisingly well with vinyl that seems beyond redemption: warm water with a drop of detergent, wiped around the record (following the grooves) with a flat pad covered in velvet, then rinsed with a strong jet of water... Leave to dry, lifting off excess water droplets with a microfibre cloth. It can get an amazing amount of grease and dust out of the grooves, the velvet needs to have a firm pile...
Thanks, Benito!
I´ve even tried it with alcohol. Not drinking, but cleaning... But I´ll try and wash the record the old fashioned way. I´ve never tried a microfibre cloth, that might be a really good suggestion. Thanks again! :o)
if you want to just get a good clean rip off the vinyl, if you coat the whole record in vinyl cleaning solution, and play it wet, you can get a really clean sounding recording. It may not "clean" the record, but it will give you a "clean" playback. let me know if you're able to get a clean rip this way.
Thanks, Paul. I´ll try to get this cleaning solution somewhere, but it may take a few days...
This program works pretty well;
I'm still learning to use it, but here's what one pass accomplished (sorry, it's in wma format, to save me an extra step).
